James W. Miller
Poet, Author, Public Speaker, Designer
James W. Miller, Robin’s husband, retired after 30+ successful years in banking. He has always been a poet. James and Robin traveled to Ghana on a global exposure ministry trip in 2010, where they renewed their marital vows of 30 years with their St. Albans Congregational Church (Queens, NY) pastor, Rev. Dr. Henry T. Simmons on top of Elmina Slave Castle looking out at the Atlantic Ocean. During that time James wrote poetry about the experience.
In 2012, the year they both retired, Robin asked him to join her in writing poetry for her planned book, Rhythms of a Faithful Journey – Verses From Slavery to Presidency. Since they took their slideshow presentations on the road, James has become – quite the performer. James’ excellent sense of design can be witnessed in the way he curates and hangs Robin’s art exhibits. He has always been most supportive and much of what Robin does, wouldn’t be possible without him.
James also creates his own works of art, like “Cotton and Cranberries”. This work includes Robin’s poem by the same title. The two have always been life partners. Now they are a professional team, as well. Robin and James both work as volunteers at the Zion Union Heritage Museum, Hyannis, MA.
